A Bit About Me

I am an accredited professional counsellor with a background in the social care sector, which includes, caring for older people in the community, youth work and supporting young homeless people and volunteering in the local night shelter.

I am conscientious and professional, and I love my work. In fact, to me, it’s not work at all. Relating to another is part of the enrichment of life.

I am humanistic and relational in my approach and believe in supporting you as the expert of your own life. I add warmth and appropriate humour alongside deep empathy, understanding and acceptance.

My aim is that you will leave feeling empowered, embodied and have the courage to show up in your own life, to be present, and to experience life more fully.
I work as a room- based counsellor from Brighten Wellbeing in Stoford Near Yeovil, but I also work as a Senior LEAP Equine and nature assisted therapist.

I and the horses work together to provide professional and confidential one to one Equine assisted counselling and psychotherapy based in Long Sutton near Langport.
I provide a client-centred and horse-centred therapeutic space, from which personal growth and development naturally transpire, the equine and nature therapy is set within the context of beautiful countryside with access to natural woodland.

Michaela works with the horses and the clients to build relationships of trust and reciprocity, which develops resilience and confidence in both the horse and the client; empowering equines, empowering people.
